Stocko respects the privacy of merchants and customers who interact with our platform. We are committed to handling personal data responsibly and transparently.
This page explains how business account deletion works and what data may be retained for legal and operational purposes.
Who This Applies To
This page applies to:
- Merchants using the Stocko POS platform and related services
- Customers who provide personal information when placing orders through a Stocko-powered catalogue
Delete your Business Account
1. Merchant Business Account
To permanently delete your business account:
- Open the Stocko POS app and sign in.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Business Information.
- Select Delete Business Account.
- Follow the on-screen confirmation steps.
Once confirmed, your business account will be permanently deleted. Access to your dashboard, storefront, and associated services will be revoked.
2. Customer Data
Customers placing orders through Stocko-powered catalogues do not create persistent accounts. However, personal information provided during checkout (such as name, email, phone number, and delivery details) may be processed as part of transaction records.
Where legally permissible, personal identifiers may be removed or restricted upon request. Transaction records may still be retained where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Data We May Retain
Even after account deletion requests, Stocko may retain certain information where required to:
- Comply with legal and tax obligations
- Maintain financial and transaction records
- Preserve payment references and related compliance data
- Prevent fraud abuse or security incidents
- Resolve disputes or chargebacks
- Enforce contractual agreements
- Maintain audit logs and system integrity
Account deletion is initiated immediately upon confirmation within the Stocko POS app. However, removal of data from active systems may require a short processing period to complete across distributed services.
Stocko maintains secure system backups for platform stability and disaster recovery. Deleted data may remain within backup systems for up to 30 days before being automatically overwritten in accordance with our retention schedule.
Aggregated or anonymized data that does not identify individuals may also be retained for analytics and platform improvement purposes.
